It all looked a little ominous as the storm clouds darkened Maidenhead Golf Club. The bar doors swung on rusty hinges. Our Captain was a solitary figure looking out over an empty and sodden putting green. But one by one the sceptical Titans came in. Could we really play in this?
Latin scholar Dunkley said "Pluvius Maximus, sed Titanes Sumus" which apparently means something like if it rains on the titans then the Titans get out and play. However I have checked this on google translate and it seems to actually say "In the biggest rains - the Titans stop"!
And some of us did stop - Mat Bassano picked up the rejuvenated old coot award and said that he was selling his clubs and giving up - but look at the prizes he won!! And look at the joy that golf brings!

Capitan James McIntyre did us proud and laid on the Titans treats. There was CBBR - coffee, bacon rolls and bubbly.
And he brought an amazing array of fantastic prizes for everyone. There were even prizes for those that kept their special golf balls all the way around. Ex Captain Andre showed little respect for this amazing act of generosity from a Scotsman, by blasting his first shot high, left and into oblivion. The Titans Talker himself managed to break his in two on the fourth hole!
The winner on the day was the amazing Tod Lockard who posted a magnificent 33 puts in tricky conditions to consolidate his 2015 lead. Big hitting son of prez George smashed his way around to post a 32, just pipping VP Alan Lee on 31. sam was 4th, Captain James 5th and Andre 6th. George got NP2, Andre NP, James, Sam & pete got the Long Drives and Pete was chuffed to win the £20. Colin Furlong picked up the Guest Prize.

But the real winner today was the amazing Captain James T McIntyre who bought so many high quality prizes that Prez has been inundated by financial offers from worried Titans who do not want to be elected Captain for 2016! Well done James for arranging a brilliant day at Maidenhead GC.
