Captains Day dawned with torrential rain & 25000 cyclists impeding our progress,
but all 16 Titans made it to Old Thorns for Captains Day.
Despite a waterlogged course they managed to tee off an hour or so late and made it halfway before Hurricane Bertha unleashed more horizontal rain, hailstones the size of marbles (they hurt!!!) together with thunder & lightning which brought proceedings to an abrupt & wet halt!!! Just like the PGA Championship!!!
In the calm of the bar, the scorers did a marvellous job with many countbacks compacting the issue!!
James and Martin were close but James (It’s the grip Mcintyre) pipped our own Lewis Hamilton for 5th. Referendum Will, Nearest the Pin Ken & The Captain Tied but The Captain prevailed for second but The Prez triumphed to Win The Captains Day in this the 10th Titans year!!
The Captains prizes of bubbly were won by James ,The Prez ,VP , Andrew & Ken & The Captain who of course could not win any Captains Prizes so was donated to his gorgeous lady assistant!!!
Prez received a bottle of Bubbly & the new Captains Trophy , donated & fashioned in true Paul F Tennant style!!! The Captain donated a bottle of wine & of course, as his tradition chocolate as well!! for everyone who attended!!
A Great day was had by all & as the assembled Titans remarked for all sorts of reasons !!! a truly memorable 2014 Captains Day!!
