Badgemore - "Feels like you're visiting an uncles house"

These very words were uttered by a Titans Founder whilst sipping a beer outside the fantastic Badgemore Park club house / country house. The aging founders were in full slipper and pipe mode after a pleasant saunter around the grounds shooting pheasant - well one of them did get  bag a birdie. The Titans first visit (or was it? Rumours abound on Twitter about three leading contenders taking sneaky practice rounds at Badgemore in preparation) was a successful affair despite the low numbers. And the reference to Nashers uncles pad got the author thinking about the houses that other Titans uncles  have lived in.

Of course it is obvious who had the most influence on the young cabin boy Prez - great uncle Otto  passed on his nautical leanings to the future Titan Rear Admiral. Let's hope that the White Viking doesn't look like this anytime soon.

Will Smith is well known for fireworks on the golf course and the biggest influence in this respect was Uncle jimmy "smelly" McNelly who was well known for experimenting with self generated methane propulsion systems in the 70s. Unfortunately after eating one of the first ever Glasgow vindaloos washed down by a bottle of Buckfast, he experimented once too often and blew up his (and many other) flats.

And what of Champion elect Alan Lee in war torn 70s Belfast? Did he have uncles with Badgemoresque houses? Well this was the North Belfast equivalent in 1972 where Norman "mad dog" Lee lived in some luxury. As you can see the putting greens need a little work but the course guide and sense of welcome is first class.

Captain Lockard's illustrious uncle was a decorated war hero from the US Navy flying fighters off the USS Kissmyass during the Korean war.  Flight Lieutenant Chuck E Love (any Ricky Lee Jones fans out there?)  obviously retired to the golf course - in the middle of the Pacific.  Tod's aversion to water hazards is perhaps understandable.

But enough of the Titan Talker's ramblings - the main story is Alan Lee's superb victory with 33 points on countback from he should remain nameless.  Alan's success is undoubtedly because he had to abandon his driver because of a wobbly head (?!!). And then his 3 iron was employed to fire highly accurate drives to the middle of the remaining fairways.

In third place was USA himself celebrating his  American compatriots Ryder Cup victory by wearing the traditional stars and stripe shorts. Will was fourth with 30, Greg trailed in 5th on 29 points.  It had been going so well for Greg with 4 consecutive pars when suddenly Prez thought that Greg was becoming a threat and employed a sure fire solution.  "Greg - it is out of bounds to the right".  And the ever faithful Greg followed the directions of his leader and so endeth his round - again!  Titans Champion challenger Sam D's title hopes were dented by his 6th place but there is still hope.

In the run up to the end of the season Alan leads by about $400k from he should remain nameless.  Sam then trails  a further $225k behind that. Exciting stuff.

in the Minor prizes Greg won NP, He who should remain nameless and Will picked up LD and Alan won the Slamdunk Whiskey.  The NP2 and Money Holes were left unmolested - virginity intact.

And who is " he who should remain nameless"?  It is of course the person who for the 7th time this year (circa) avoided a handicap cut but still managed to accumulate loadsamoney by coming in second place - ON COUNTBACK!!!!.  Shame!
