This is despite him obviously trying to protect his handicap on the 17th. With vultures circling overhead he put his tee shot in the water and then from the drop zone managed to chip it into the water again! The Titans ethics committee will be convened to consider whether a further 2 shot cut will be imposed.
Further information to be included is his astonishing performance at the heavily bunkered par 4 10th. A drive to the far right hand side of the fairway left a difficult approach which Alan put long and right ending up in a scrape guarded by a large plant behind the ball. He managed to advance the ball 15m and then pitched the ball over the back of the green! However he got two points by putting in from off the green.
Spare a thought for recent Hall of Fame entrant James McIntyre whose struggles on the back nine are well illustrated here.
And finally the minor prizes winners were:

Long drive (hackers) - Greg McErlean
