Magni winning Frideen and Helmet donning Bell
What a funny game golf is. Two of the best Titans golfers over the years bookended the prize list at the windswept Shire course on Sunday. Six times Major winner Nick Bell donned the cherished Titans helmet after a great display of golf. His helmet glistened in the summer sunshine as the act*** ** *** ****** ( the Titans Director of Decency has redacted this section).  Eric won the coveted Magni prize with an impressive points haul of "embarrasing". Even the single figure players want to cuddle Magni at least once.

Nick won with 31 points which proved to be a stellar performance given the fact that everyone else was in the 20's or worse. Tour leader Deaks did at least keep up his championship standing by coming second with 28 points, followed by Will, Frank, Alex and Alan.

"Oh no - how embarrassing. If I had known that I'd be doing this then I would have duffed that chip on the 18th"

"On second thoughts this will look rather good on my LinkedIn page."
The conditions also (possibly) were a factor in the mini competiitons with three remaining unclaimed. 43 balls were lost on the day which at least was an improvement on last years dismal 52!  However honour was salvaged by Nick winning NP, Phil winning 16+ LD and Will winning the money.  However the luckiest person of the day was surely Duncan who won the Captains very generous prize on the 1st - admittedly with a fantastic birdie on a hole where most Titans title hopes traditionally disappear!  Faced between the choice of a worthy book and a £150 bottle of Krug, he blamed his illiteracy and his wife and swiped the bubbly to become the "Krug Meister" for a day.

Book, Prosecco, Krug - KRUG?!!!

"I bloody hate Krug - Mutter, mutter, mutter"
Some people were really only here for the beer.  Charles Lutyens bragged endlessly about his new Guinness sponsorship;

Winner Nick was legless by the end of the celebrations and started breaking furniture in Led Zeppelin style.

And to cap it all and in scenes reminiscent of Driving Miss Daisy,  Kam and VP decided to ignore the Prez's 30 minute introductory speech by driving off on a celebratory lap of the course - what they were celebrating was very uncertain.

But some golf also took place - evidence in the photos below.
But it was a glorious day at the Shire - with two of the Titans Best becoming war-mongering bookends.

AND FINALLY - TITANS SPOT THE BALL COMPETITION
Since the first publication of the image below, the Titans Talker has received multiple complaints that it is misleading. They all claim that there should be a big arrow from right to left indicating the wind direction. The Titans have, after consulting Titans legal counsel Judge Rita, concluded that the wind direction should indeed be added. Now shown in green.

The Titans Director of Homeland Security has investigated further and concluded that the complaints were all written by the same person - a member of the IOC. And so In a bid to maintain IOC collective responsibility they decided by a vote of 5 to 1 not to name and shame Phil Schick!
