Nina and Ally show the way . . .

Nina took all the points with a dazzling display - particularly with her Nearest-the-Pin on the 9th. So close that even the Men had to stand back and admire (see below). To top it all the birdie that followed was the only Ladies birdie on the day.

The Moroccan mafia got in on the act by winning the Mens - although some suspect that he has been 'managing' his handicap recently (5?!!!!).

In any case. Ally (the bandit) Bakali was so pleased with himself that he held the photographer to ransom unless he published a personal photo!

Scandal in the IOC boardroom.

As if the scandal surrounding Tesco's cooking of the books was not enough, the markets were further rocked by revelations that the Titans 2014 money board was understating the extent of Neil Cannon's lead. A Titans whistleblower had alerted the authorities to the possibility that winnings from Milford and from Maidenhead had been mis-stated.
Picture
Titans Director of Finance- Graham "loadsamoney" Nash was door stepped at his recently acquired £65m Wentworth home and said "I only deal with the real money - not that Monopoly money".

Nevertheless it is reported that VP, Statto and recent winner Mr Greed were seen with calculators and Tipex in Nash's recently acquired Bentley last night.

IOC president Frank "Slippy" Walters was conveniently out of the country as the storm broke. Speaking from the deck of his recently acquired cruiser in the Med he denied accusations that it had been bought using the missing money.

So you might well ask where does this leave the IOC and Titans Golf?

  • Disgraced former captain Will "Sticky Fingers" Smith called for a referendum.
  • Current captain Paul "Del Monte" Tennant supported beleaguered Finance Director Nash by stating that "Gnasher tells me he is innocent - his recently acquired wealth was gained through giving golf lessons to VP".
  • VP "Grassy Knoll" Lee was not available for comment as the gap behind Neil Cannon visibly widened.
  • Leader Neil Cannon said that his visibly widening gap was the result of a rather hot vindaloo.

Egg Bap helps Greg Shine at Surrey National

Greg and Tod battled it out for supremacy in the last 4 ball at new course Surrey National but Greg's better front 9 meant that he ended top with a crazy 41 points. The handicappers scythe awaits. But what does the Egg Bap have to do with it? It turns out that we weren't booked in to play and it was only down to Ken ringing the club to order his egg bap that alerted the Titans to the problem. Greg quickly rectified the problem little knowing that it would later benefit him greatly.

Other strange things happened today. Someone completely unknown turned out to play claiming to be Andre McLaughlin. But the beach boy blonde locks were absent and Titans were heard muttering "impostor". But all was well when it was realised that the left handed imposter had shot a score in the 20's and we realised that it was just a hell of a haircut and style change.

Ken won NP, Tod won NP2 and long Drive (under 15) with Graham picking up the over 15 LD and Neil won the money hole.

And the Race to Merrist Wood took another turn as Alan won 60,000 more dollars than Neil Cannon to narrow the gap at the top to the leaderboard. Other winners were Tod in 2nd place, Martin in 3rd, Alan 4th, Ken 5th and Neil 6th.

The Titans celebrated 10 years of golf in fine fellowship with a Par 3 competition and BBQ where it all started at Dukes Meadows. It was a fine turnout of male and female titans and we were thoroughly entertained by comedy duo Azim and Prez.

But the star of the show was VP Alan Lee who won the Par 3 event by shooting the same score as the invited golf pro!  So delighted was Alan that he posed in front of his overflowing trophy cabinet to give us all this tremendous shot of his prizes on the night!!

Deeks and Jenny win Super Titans

Captains Nina and Paul led off the first group.
It was the 10th anniversary of the super Titans at Pine Ridge and many Titans came out to enjoy what was ultimately a glorious sunny day. The golf was good and some high scores were recorded.  The 2014 Ladies Champion was Jenny Paxman who won with a fantastic score of 37 points.
Picture
The men's competition was a high-scoring affair with the best scores being posted by players in the second half of the draw who enjoyed the best of the weather. Mikes eagle at the ninth was the highlight of a wonderful round which was equalled by Neil's 39 points. Sam must have thought it was his day when he posted 40 points only to be beaten by Jimmys magnificent 41 points.

Keith surely had in his mind that he was engraving his name on the trophy (wherever that was - James?)  having shot an amazing 43 points only to be thwarted by the grizzly hirstute Titans veteran Deeks who shot an amazing 44 points to win the "moan-ey".

Jenny and Keith lead the field . . .

. . . on another beautiful day at Dukes last Saturday. Gross 36 and 31 respectively were enough to leave a field of 15 trailing.

The points gained (and Jenny took all 7 with a Nearest-the-Pin as well) placed both at the top of the Summer tour leaderboard.

The Prez missed his chance to go top of the Nearest-the-Pin leaderboard with Graham taking that honour (and making his birdie put too!)

Only two birdies on the day suggests it was tougher than anyone expected. Nearly half the field didn't break 40!
