Mike Rubber, the Titans Top gun, ripped Old Thorns apart with a majestic display of controlled golf. He out gunned the big Cannon (on countback) with the VP a close 3rd.

 

The Titans captain introduced novel competitions and with very generous prizes on offer the competition had extra fizz. (No surprise that the rubberman also departed with a couple of bottles of champers)  

 

A superb day out was enjoyed by all even the two Ps (who shall rename nameless) who hotly contested the Captains Day wooden spoon.

 

A titanic thank you to Andre for making his Captains day a day for all of us to remember.

Is it a dream? Has Pete Docherty really won the claret jug? Or are Titans being reduced in height as their handicaps increase under the new handicapping rules?

The welsh wizard managed to make a better job at keeping his ball in play today at sun drenched Cottesmore than he did at Pyrford. Picking up the money hole as well just confirmed his dominance.

Titans were visibly wilting by the end of a long hot day. The tour director came in for some flak for the late start but dealt with this by saying that the post was up for grabs at the end of the year! Campaigning is expected to start soon.

 . . . but a different man each time!

This week it was Martin's turn to share in the glory of winning the Par 3 competition at Dukes.

Annabelle continues to post scores that beat most of the Men (this time all bar 3!).

Congratulations to her for another Best Gross of 32 and to Martin and Neil for their Best Gross of 30.

But why can't the Ladies hit the 9th green???

One of the leading Titans in 2013 said "it was b****y tough, the rough was wispy grass and if your ball went in there it was lost."

The hay also caused one titan (Captain Andre) to go missing in action (hay fever). But the chaos didn't stop there as Kevin withdrew having aggravated an old back injury.  

The tour leader from Wales lost eight balls but was outdone by fellow Welshman  Martin with 13!


So in the war zone that was Pyrford, it was the artillery that decided the battle. Well done Neil Cannon

This time with a different man but Annabelle swept the points up again this week at the Dukes Par 3.

We think Mat's big grin is for his PB of 28 - or was it just for beating Will into second place.
