Low scores prevailed at sodden Leatherhead. The course won against 12 brave Titans but one player nearly choked on his Guinness when he was announced as the champion on 31 points - VP Alan Lee. Charles Lutyens was a creditable 30 points winning on count back from Neil Cannon. Mike Rubber, playing off 1, took the last money position with 29 points.

Charles picked up the over 18's LD whilst Andre took the money on the tricky 18th.

After a hearty C1/2PR = Coffee, ½ a Pig in a Roll the Presidential party made its way to the ‘shooting range’ to unleash the big guns and prepare for the Wild West ‘shoot out’ .

The starter (big smile & white teeth off course) welcomed the Birthday boy and touring party. The highlight of the starters induction, was the warning “There should not be too much danger lurking ‘in them there hills’ along the fairway as it’s too early in the season and too cold (35c!) for the Sidewinders (*) to disturb you .” The Palefaces turned ‘Paler’!!

Our semi-pro Mike Rubber turned on the style at a windy Sherfield Oaks winning everything but (surprisingly) the longest drive. Considering the handicap he is playing off it was a magnificent performance coming in with 36 points.

Meanwhile amongst the also rans James McIntyre won long drive with a fantastic cack handed drive up the middle of the fairway.

And Tod Lockard also demonstrated why he is not favourite for the Masters. Whilst Rory had just 24 points in his final round this weekend, Tod had 24 putts in 9 holes and still managed to get in the money!

Following on from his orange shorts at Kingswood, Neil continued to bring additional colour to the Titans with Aquamarine slacks perfectly setting up a delicious contrast with the traditional titans purple. Take a twirl Neil.

But better than that he also brought his A game to Hoebridge for the Freak trophy. The freak himself was nowhere to be seen but Neil posted an amazing 42 points to win from Alan, Will and Greg on 35 points.

But highlight of the day may have been James showing off how long one of his drives went. A full blooded strike didn't even get close to the ladies tee. It went about 600mm. Better luck next time James.
