Andrew won the NP, and Pete won the 15+ LD. Possibly for the first time in Titans History the LD (1-14) was shared by Sam and Prez.
Richard won the Guest prize (24pts).

The Titans gloried in the beautiful spring sunshine but Harleyford bit back as most of the players performed poorly. Only 2 shot in the 30's, 11 in the 20's, 2 in the 10's and 2 in single figures! Top of the pile was Ali with an admired 32 points but after a purple shirt related disqualification he ended up bottom of the pile. Naturally this led to a stream of colour related allegations - Golf only for purples etc. But this didn't take anything away from Ben's delight at securing his first Tour victory with a creditable score of 31pts. He also won the Money Hole and was sexually assaulted by Ali at the prize ceremony which made for an interesting day. Wren secured 2nd place (27pts). The next 3 places were decided on Countback (25pts) - 3rd Last as Usual Andrew, 4th Moany Prez, 5th Crocked Greg. Sam was 6th (24pts). Andrew won the NP, and Pete won the 15+ LD. Possibly for the first time in Titans History the LD (1-14) was shared by Sam and Prez. Richard won the Guest prize (24pts). The Prez's moans have been mentioned a few times but what made this normally positive person so upset? (Ed - check your facts here - this man has history?) Well as usual it started with his new 13 handicap (Ed - Whats the problem? 1st last outing, 4th this time, top of the money board by over 1/2 mill?) and then it all kicked off over the NP2 par 4 7th hole where no-one made the hole in 2. Of course this got a mention at the post-match presidential rant where the invective was targeted at the injured and absent VP who had selected the prize holes. But what was more shocking was the on course demonstration where he delayed Sam's approach shot by reversing his buggy all over the fairway and then just parking it there - No wonder Sam fluffed his approach after a perfect drive - shocking stuff. It was later claimed that he couldn't engage 1st gear - ON A GOLF BUGGY??? It was a great days play at the Beautiful Harleyford course - Roll on the Freak Trophy match. Will the Freak remember his shirt?

Forget career grand slams, the new game in town is to bookend the Wall of Fame listings. And Frank achieved this in the first game of the season at Pine Ridge by picking up the Founders Trophy for the second time. He won the inaugural trophy in 2007 and so his name will be first and last on the list. The only other person to achieve this was Duncan Deacon in 2017 when he won the Titans Tour Champion award - he also won the first one in 2007. There was a large turnout for the season opener and of course the presence of the Weather God meant that we were treated to lots of weather - mostly windy with blue skies but the occasional hailstorm whilst the God was having a nap! And to spice up the competition the IOC decided to introduce a new exciting element to play. They purchased and deployed a specially trained RoboFox programmed to randomly steal balls lying comfortably on the fairway. Judge Rita fell foul of the fox on the Par 3 14th and the sight of seeing grown men chasing a robotic fox was something to behold. Unfortunately the RoboFox malfunctioned after failing to digest Rita's offering and has now been sent back to Valhalla Enterprises Inc in exchange for a Titanic RoboCop - watch out. And Guest player Jan Norton had an exciting days play, topped by an excellent 5 point score on the Par 4 15th hole when her 100 yard approach shot trundled and bumbled its way into the hole for a net hole in one. Jan also picked up the honour of being the best guest in the ladies competition. Congratulations Jan. In the Mens competition Frank won (33), Tod was 2nd (33) and Keith was 3rd (31). 5 players scored 30 points and were ranked in this order - Keith (the elder), Lord Ray, Wren, Pete & Sam. In the ladies completion Kinga won with a very creditable 37 points in difficult conditions, Nina was second with 35 and Fay third with 33. And finally the new mens captain was unveiled. Well perhaps he was regurgitated as for the first time The Titans have re-appointed a previous Captain to the role. Congratulations to Will Smith. |
