Never mind the Rasputinesque head attire. Major winner Paul Tennant displays a fantastical smooth swing in his practice shot and then ruins it in the real thing with a theatrical kneeling / bobbing action just as he follows through. Still it is a classic swing action - but one that shouldn't be copied by fellow Titans! Should only be attempted by trained professionals like Paul.
It was a freezing cold day as the Titans got their 2013 season off to a controversial start at Arctic Pine Ridge. Titans were wondering around lost in the flurries of snow. USA Ryder Cup hopeful Tod "Hunter" Lockard found himself two fairways off course as the sharp wind blew Titans hopes asunder.
But Fantastic golf was played too. John Philips ran amok and won with an amazing 43 points much to the amazement of the Prez. Spare a thought also to the fallen. Brave Jimmy Hallet had to retire early to the bar suffering from frostbite. 
The blinged out Walters and Deacon were aghast at the astonishing total amassed by Mr Handicap Philips who was trying to deny that his new "kinder" handicap helped in any way!
The Titans Talker was informed by a secret source that Mr Philips is fleeing the country to hide from the shame.
But he sits proudly on top of the leader board. Well done John. A great day! Congratulation to ladies champion Jordan who also posted a great score to win the hard fought ladies event. Expect a report on the Ladies blog soon.  The new seasons opening event is less than a week away and many drivers are being dusted off for practice down at the range.

When playing a ball lying tight against the base of a tree - don't follow through. Simples!! McErlean needs a new 9 iron and perhaps new glasses.  there it is! It has to happen once in every golfer's life-time and this Saturday someone smiled on Philip Campbell. Luckily there were witnesses as otherwise who knows whether he would have been believed. The champagne was missing everywhere - except in his smile!
CONGRATULATIONS from all of the Par 3 TITANS  It was 6 years ago that the Founders agreed at Brocket Hall to put their hands in their pockets and invest in what has become a fantastic series of golfing events. Check out the Hall of Fame - Can you get your name on the Founders Trophy list with the greats - Bell, Walters, Rubber, Monson and the master moaner himself - Deacon.
