The sun was shining and there was a mist across the course - a bit different to last week! Rita and Pat 'burnt up' the course. Rita five shots clear of here nearest rival (come back Fay I hear!) and Pat with a Gross score one over par. Luckily for the rest of us the handicap system works and they are both cut a stroke. Only one birdie and that resulted from the Nearest-the-Pin shot at the ninth. Congratulations to Graham Congratulations to our winners, Rita and Sam. Brave scores on a bitterly cold start. Both did well to come back with scores well below their averages. The Ladies in the background just want out of the cold! Only the bravest of Titans were prepared to make it for the early morning start today. There was no point raking the bunkers - the rakes were frozen in! Despite that 16 made it in the end. However, only two birdies on the day and only one player managed to keep his ball on the ninth green - and that with the last tee shot of the day - well done Sam. As for the others, well some tried the new game of golf ball skating! The Titans cabinet maker and letter carver has been hard at work updating the Wall of Fame in the Titans club house. Check it out on the "Wall of Fame" link and see also the recently updated list of how many times people have won Majors. There is one Titan out there on top. Who do you think it is?
For those who cannot find the link then here is the updated Wall of Fame. Some great champions there. Are you on the list yet? If not then get to the range - the first major is next month. Fay and Pat (how did THE PREZ manage to get into the photo!?) were the first winners in 2016 as 13 Titans braved the rather wet and somewhat windy conditions at Dukes last Saturday. Muddy fairways were of little hindrance to Pat as he missed them all - greens only in his round of nine pars! Fay was not quite as accurate but was not really challenged by the other Ladies. The weather had its say with only two making it to the 9th green - Graham just edging Pete out of the running - and not a birdie in sight! Thanks for the £3 to the RNLI! |
