1950 - 2016
Many of you will have played with Tim at Dukes Meadows on our regular Saturday Par 3 tournament. Some of you will be aware that Tim died suddenly on the 5th of August.
We felt it would be appropriate for a few words to be said in recognition of a fellow Titan who loved playing with such a great bunch of people.
So, where to start? Well, I knew Tim since his son, Christopher went to the same school as my daughter some 23 years ago. He and his wife along with us and a few others spent many a happy(?) day camping with the kids and Tim was always the very happy fella who drank a lot and ate more than anyone else (how did he stay that thin?).
In later years, he could still drink with the best of us and always managed to eat more than us.
Tim was a specialist audio engineer, looking after recording decks for some of the biggest names around and some from the long distant past (anyone remember Joan Armatrading?).
What few knew was that Tim was a recording artist in his own right. He had a studio in his house and wrote, played and sung an eclectic mix of music.
We will miss a titanic TITAN.
PS The Titans have agreed to send a donation to one of Tim’s favoured charities –Ealing Music Therapy.
PPS Fay has kindly proposed to sponsor The Tim Owen Cup for the individual who donates the most to our Par 3 charities over the past year - to be presented at the end of each Summer Par 3 tour.
